Privacy at Salty Girls

Salty Girls is built around one privacy idea: your presence is marina-level, never a live pin on a map. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and what we never do. We're in a small closed beta, so features — and this page — will evolve; we'll keep it honest as they do.

What we collect

• Your email — used to sign you in with a one-time code.
• Your profile — name, photo, role, yacht name, languages, and vibes you choose to add.
• Marina-level check-ins — which marina you've checked in to, your availability status, and when you arrived.
• Photos you upload — profile photos, spot photos, and photos attached to Pulse posts.
• Things you post — Pulse posts, polls, comments, reactions, meetups, spots, and crew notes.

What we never do

• We do not store your exact GPS coordinates. Your device's location is used only on your phone, to confirm you're near a marina — then it's discarded.
• We do not show anyone your exact live location. You appear at a marina, never at a pin.
• We do not sell your personal data. Not now, not as a "growth strategy" later.

How marina-level visibility works

Crew checked in around the same marina as you can see your profile details — that's the point of the club. From other marinas, people only see how many girls are checked in somewhere — a number, not names, photos, or yachts. Your yacht name and contact links are only shown to co-located crew.

Your photos

Only upload photos you have the right to share, and be thoughtful about photos that show other people — ask them first. If you delete a post or photo, it's removed from the app; during the beta, copies may persist briefly in storage while we clean up.

Your rights

• Deletion — ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
• Correction — ask us to fix anything that's wrong.
• Questions — ask us anything about how your data is handled.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored with Supabase, our database and authentication provider, protected by row-level security rules that enforce the marina-level model described above.

Honest note: no app can promise perfect security — we minimise what we collect, keep presence marina-level, and keep hardening as the community grows. And when you meet someone new, online or dockside: use the same common sense you'd use anywhere.
